Senvion 3.XM series set to receive generators from CRRC ZhuZhou Electric

Senvion, a leading global manufacturer of wind turbines, has signed a framework contract with its supplier CRRC Zhuzhou Electric (a primary subsidiary of CRRC Group) at the China Windpower fair in Beijing. The contract covers the delivery of generators for the NES based Senvion 3.XM series. It foresees that CRRC will provide a minimum of 50% of generators for the 3.7M144, at least 100 pieces in the next three years.

Senvion’s new contract with CRRC Zhuzhou Electric covers the delivery of generators for the NES based Senvion 3.XM series. CRRC is set to deliver at least 100 pieces in the next three years.

“As one of the major wind industry players worldwide, efficient purchasing deals that create scale effects whilst ensuring highest quality are strategically crucial steps towards a more optimized technology,” said Jürgen Geissinger, CEO at Senvion. “With this cooperation together with CRRC Zhuzhou Electric for generators, that will power our 3.XM series turbine of the future at the best conditions, Senvion will reach the next step of our goals.”

CRRC is one of the largest traction equipment and wind power generator manufacturers in China.

“Being one of the largest wind power generator manufacturers with the strongest R&D and manufacturing capability in China’s wind power market, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric will adhere to its high-quality pursuit and ensure product delivery and service performance based on its rich engineering experience and strong test and validation capability,” said Zhou Junjun, President at CRRC Zhuzhou Electric. “Following Senvion’s Global footprint, we aim to become Senvion’s strategic cooperation partner for existing and new markets.”

Senvion has announced to follow the goal of achieving ‎the best LCoE with experienced suppliers at highest quality standards. The strategic cooperation with CRRC will contribute to this goal.
