123Venture announces delivery of a new wind power project, adding to its investment in renewable energies to over 1 billion euros.
Since 2005, when it first started investing in renewable energies, 123Venture has been instrumental in funding more than 150 electricity power stations representing over 500 MW and in excess of one billion euros of capital and debt investment. The beneficiaries of these investments are project development companies, equipment manufacturers and power station construction companies. These assets are already generating regular revenues of over 100 million euros per annum to the benefit of local municipalities, banks, maintenance teams or insurance firms.
In line with its thrusting investment policy, 123Venture is now behind the commissioning of two new green energy projects: a wind farm in the Pyrenees and a solar farm in the Ardennes. The investments total about 92 million euros.
The wind turbine farm in ThiƩrache, this has been built on land on the boroughs of Antheny, Champlin and Auvillers-les-Forges in the Ardennes and was commissioned in the last quarter of 2013 as the culmination of a lengthy development process started in 2006.
Built by Quadran and funded through the BPI France and Triodos banks, the wind farm is an example of a successful project well accepted both by the local authorities and by residents in the localities concerned.
The 11 wind turbines installed in the Ardennes Regional Natural Park will together generate a total of 27.5 MW producing 66 GWh of energy each year, the equivalent of the energy consumption of 28,000 people or an annual saving of 22,000 in greenhouse gases. The site, which represents a total investment of 42 million euros, will be operated and maintained by Quadran via its local outreach teams.
