The turbine service lifts safely transport technicians at 24 m/min to nacelles to service equipment. The lift is far preferable to technicians climbing the towers’ 100-m ladders several times a day.
A manufacturer of wind turbine service lifts has completed the installation of 119 of such units at three separate wind farms in Australia for the world’s fifth largest wind turbine supplier. These turbine service lifts (TSLs) are operating successfully atAGLBluff, North Brown Hill, and Oaklands Hill wind farms with a combined generating capacity of nearly 250 MW.
With close to 10,000 service lifts supplied worldwide, manufacturer Power Climber Wind designs and supplies custom turbine service lifts that meet the highest global safety standards. These TSLs are UL-listed and CE-approved for many leading wind turbines and are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 certified facility.
The TSLs safely transport technicians at 24 m/min to the top of towers to service equipment, far preferable to technicians climbing 100-m ladders multiple times a day. “Customer confidence in the TSLs shows because we’re working three shifts to meet the increased demand,” says Vice President and General Manager Ruben Bake.
