GEV Wind to showcase wind-turbine O&M ideas at WindEnergy Hamburg

By Michelle Froese | September 19, 2018

GEV Wind Power is combining its wind-turbine blade expertise with more services at the WindEnergy Hamburg conference & expo next week (exhibiting in Hall A1 Stand 100). It will showcase its latest cost-saving innovations and services, co-exhibiting with partners FaroWind and Kaeufer,

GEV Wind Power’s Blade247 provides a tiered preventative maintenance package to suit the risk appetite and cost profile of its clients.

Together, GEV and FaroWind will offer owners and operators a wider turnkey solution for Wind Turbine O&M throughout the continental European market.

“We are really looking forward to talking about our new services and innovations alongside our partners FaroWind and Kaeufer in Hamburg, explaining how owners and operators can drive down costs with our industry leading offerings,” said Alastair Gadney – Director of Research and Development at GEV Wind Power.

“Following our successful grant fundraise of over half a million pounds, we are excited to be showcasing the Offshore Ventura Habitat with Kaeufer GmbH at the expo. The Ventura Habitat KBPO is the latest enhancement of the existing range and will facilitate blade maintenance for offshore turbines, in otherwise prohibitive weather conditions,” he added.

With GEV Wind Power covering UK and U.S., Kaeufer will be responsible for distribution of the Ventura Habitat in the EU and Rest of World. For the full range of Kaeufer products and to see the Ventura Habitat visit Hall B7 Stand 329 and Hall B7.GF Stand 023.

“With the continued growth of offshore wind farms, GEV’s development of the Ventura Habitat from onshore to offshore will help facilitate lower costs, improved time efficiency, and more dependable access,” added Gadney.

GEV Wind Power is also proud to continue its relationship with Danish blade structural specialists Bladena, supporting new technology advancements. With over 10 years of research and development work at DTU-Risø, Bladena is already successfully bringing innovative solutions to structural problems emerging in wind turbine blades.

“As demands on blades increase through harsher operating environments, the stresses and strains on wind-turbine blades get ever more severe. Bladena’s specialist knowledge together with GEV Wind Power’s maintenance know- how and expertise, seek to face these challenges head-on,” said Gadney. “This gives owners and operators cost effective solutions to otherwise life limiting structural issues.”
