Heavy-duty fuse clip for high voltage fuses

By Paul Dvorak | August 31, 2012

Schurter HD fuse clip for high voltage

The Schurter CSO fuse clip works well in a range of dc applications including inverters, battery-charge controllers, and string-fuse holders.

A provider of fuse holders is expanding its range to include a fuse clip for heavy-duty performance. The CSO fuse clip for 10.3 x 38 mm or 10.3 x 85 mm fuses, is suitable for applications with voltages up to 1,500 Vac and Vdc, and currents to 32A. The fuse clip’s characteristics meets or exceeds the present need for increasing photovoltaic system voltages.

The CSO clip comes in solder and screw-rivet versions. The solder type allows direct mounting on a printed circuit board by means of through-hole methods. The screw-rivet version provides additional flexibility for basic designs. Due to the special copper alloy both versions are characterized by a strong clamping force resulting in minimal power loss.

The CSO fuse clip works well in a wide range of PV and other dc applications including inverters, battery charge controllers, and string fuse holders. The fuse clip conforms to RoHS specifications and is currently the only photovoltaic clip on the market with cURus approval.
The manufacturer also offers the ASO gPV, 1,000 Vdc UL approved, 10.3 x 38mm fuse to fit the new CSO fuse clip. The device also supports fuses with a 10.3-mm diameter of any length including a 10.3 x 85 mm for higher voltages.

CSO pricing for the 1,000 piece pack is $0.48 per clip for either THT or Screw or Rivet versions. For detailed specifications of the fuse clip are here: http://www.schurterinc.com/New-Products/Fuses-Fuseholders.
