India shipyards get big angle rollers

By Paul Dvorak | April 28, 2011

Shipyards are more often using high strength steel in hulls and other structures. But it’s not easy to bend. With such great forces in play, an angle roll must be powerful enough to bend the special profiles used in a ship’s keels. For this reason, an Indian shipyard has chosen a DAVI MCP Angle Roll, a machine that can perform this rigorous manufacturing operation with the needed power and rigidity to handle the bending of these beams without stress to either the machine frame or the shafts supporting the dies bending the steel. After previous orders of the Angle Rolls in Pakistan and Korea, the manufacturer has tripled the number of machine presence in the shipyard sector.
