A global manufacturer of electrical protection solutions announces a performance improvement for its Strikesorb 40 SPD product line. The products protect vulnerable electronic equipment against electrical damage caused by overvoltage events and lightning strikes. The Maximum Impulse Current specification that the SPDs can withstand has been increased to 12.5 kA (10/350 μs) direct lightning, per the IEC 61643-1:2005 standard.
“All products in the Strikesorb 40 product series have been successfully tested and certified as Class I surge protective devices per the IEC 61643-1:2005 standard,” said Zafris Politis, Director of R&D for Raycap’s Electrical Protection Division. This makes them ideal for protecting industrial equipment exposed to the damaging effects of direct lightning currents.
