The MDCL Series film capacitors from Illinois Capacitor are available in a range of capacitance values from 50 to 1,500 F (Faradays) with high energy density and voltage ratings up to 1,600 WVdc. Packaged in a tubular metal case, this capacitor is well suited for energy management applications that use dc link circuitry. Tinned brass terminals are available in two styles, with either male or female threads. This provides excellent electrical properties, with greater mechanical strength than wire leads or tabs

MDCL capacitors are recommended for all types of dc Link applications in products such as power inverters, UPS systems, solar heaters, induction heaters, green energy, motor controllers and other demanding applications. Low ESR and high ripple current ratings, with self-inductance as low as 35nH, simplifies design for highest conversion efficiency.

ESR characteristics are excellent, varying from 2.2 to 6.2 milliOhms, depending on values. Operating temperature ranges from -40 to +75°C, with an exceptional life expectancy of 100,000 hours. The impregnant is based on vegetable and contains no PCBs. Like other IC products, the parts are also fully RoHS compliant and 100% burn-in tested. Prices start at $35 each.
