Sandvik, the global engineering group, will be among the largescale innovators at this year’s FABTECH 2017 welding products exhibition. More than 1,750 world class suppliers are expected to take part in the upcoming FABTECH trade show, the biggest event in North America for the welding industry.
The three-day event, which is held annually, focuses on new products and techniques to help operators reduce their costs and increase productivity. It opens on November 6 at the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago, US.
Sandvik will take the opportunity to present itself as one of the leading innovators of advanced materials and welding techniques. Visitors to its Booth No. B25079 can be introduced to the company’s range of new materials that are designed to be more robust and cost-effective than ever before.
They can also learn about the latest advancements in welding techniques, for significantly lower costs and enhanced weld quality.
Products open to discussion will include the Sandvik range of stainless steels and nickel alloys. These help customers achieve greater consistency between heats and batches, resulting in trouble-free welding and high-quality welds.
Also on display will be Exaton 42, a new super-duplex stainless steel filler wire designed for UNS 32760 specifications, or for use in aggressive environments where high mechanical strength and high corrosion resistance is required.
The new materials represent a milestone for the industry, said Peter Stones, Global Product Manager at Sandvik: “Not only do they reduce costs and improve quality, they also determine how this type of work will be done in the future. This, in turn, will make a real difference to the lives of welders all over the world.”
Visitors will also have the opportunity to enhance their welding knowledge and skills with the aid of the Sandvik Welding App. The interactive digital app provides valuable information on the planning and execution of welding operations and includes calculators for assessing various welding challenges.
In addition, FABTECH 2017 attendees with a LinkedIn account are invited to join the company’s online discussion group, Welding & Materials, in which Sandvik specialists offer advice on everything from the selection of materials to problem-solving.
