These new services, Warranty Optimizer and Turbine Protection, help wind farm owners increase production, lower operating costs, and extend asset life, ultimately maximizing profitability.
Warranty Optimizer is a service to optimize the value of the OEM warranty from start to finish by:
- Liberating data: UpWind Insight™ data historian captures, stores and aggregates all required turbine data on a continuous basis, throughout the warranty period.
- Tracking asset performance: With detailed analysis, UpWind Insight™ performance engineering and analysis tracks asset and turbine performance on a monthly basis, highlighting areas of concern and opportunity for improvement.
Turbine Protection is a full-service warranty option for unplanned component replacements and repairs after the original OEM warranty expires.
UpWind Solutions first developed a ‘full wrap’ concept and solution in 2011 for a 10-year old under-performing project, which the owner wished to move from the OEM to a Full Service ISP. Four years later, UpWind has successfully shifted the project from a 78% availability to a 96% availability, covered major component risk and services, and delivered bonus generating production.
