A manufacturer of two-bladed utility-scale wind turbines says it has been awarded contracts for 19 of its N1000 one-megawatt wind turbines for projects in North and South America. The 70-m high N1000 turbines, from Nordic Windpower USA Inc, Pocatello, Idaho, will use 59-m dia rotors to provide renewable energy for schools, a military base, a municipal utility, and a residential development.
The company will provide:
12 MW for community wind projects in Minnesota
3 MW more for an existing wind farm in Uruguay
2 MW for a construction company and schools in Indiana
1 MW for an Iowa municipal power company, and
1 MW for a military base in Arizona.

Anyone know where we can get an Owners Manual for a Nordic N1000?
Paul Dvorak says
Nordic makes a kind of odd wind turbine in that it uses only two blades while the rest of the world (well many others) uses three. One advantage is that it’s less expensive, but power outputs are low.
Anyone know other engineering advantages of two blades over three?
